About The Position

As a Seasonal Retail Selling Colleague at Macy’s, you combine results-oriented selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable holiday shopping experiences. You learn what customers need, offer personalized recommendations, and connect them with appropriate products and services. Working on the sales floor or in the fitting room, you use product knowledge and a personal approach to build trust, meet sales goals, and encourage customer loyalty. The role also involves keeping the shopping space clean, organized, and inviting. At the start of each day, colleagues review sales goals, learn about new arrivals, best sellers, trends, and promotions, and prepare the sales floor. They welcome customers, build relationships through friendly conversations, and help maintain a shoppable space by merchandising new receipts, processing damages and vendor returns, updating signs and prices, and assisting with merchandise moves. Colleagues share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and provide a warm, sincere checkout experience. They support teammates, work collaboratively, pursue sales goals, and learn from one another. Seasonal colleagues are typically scheduled for 10–20 hours per week, depending on business needs and colleague availability.
