About The Position
Guitar Center is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to create a welcoming, engaging shopping experience for customers and help them find instruments and gear suited to their musical interests. The role combines customer service, sales, product knowledge, relationship building, and store merchandising. Associates are expected to meet sales targets, recommend additional products when appropriate, maintain organized displays and shelves, and continue learning through feedback and experience. The position pays $16.94–$25.41 per hour plus commission, depending on background and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other factors, and pay ranges may differ by location.
Requirements
- Passion for music and a solid understanding of various instruments and products.
- A proven track record in sales and ability to meet sales targets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers, learn about their musical interests, and recommend suitable instruments and gear.
- Work toward sales targets and use upselling and cross-selling to enhance customers’ setups.
- Stay informed about products, trends, and features to help customers make informed decisions.
- Build customer relationships, follow up to support satisfaction, and develop connections in the local music community.
