About The Position

EZCORP is hiring a Retail Sales Associate / Retail Customer Service Team Member (Pawnbroker) for its EZPawn location in Weslaco, Texas. This role offers a structured career path in a fast-paced retail environment, beginning with a five-week paid training program. Upon completing the program, trainees receive a $0.50 raise and promotion to Pawnbroker. Employees can pursue a Pawnbroker Certification Program for an additional $1 per hour, explore promotion to Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Leader), and apply for an Assistant Manager position that includes a six-month training program.

The position involves daily customer interactions and assisting with sales and pawn transactions involving items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Associates help create a friendly, courteous, and respectful store environment. Pay is competitive and based on experience, with opportunities for increased pay and position advancement. The role also offers monthly uncapped bonuses based on store and individual performance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, positive, outgoing, and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test after a conditional offer.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of commonly pawned items such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
• Sales background.
• Bilingual.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide excellent customer service in person and over the phone.
• Interact with customers to assist with sales and reach mutually satisfying agreements regarding pawn items.
• Process sales, loans, and extensions.
• Perform store opening and closing duties.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
