As a Seasonal Retail Selling Colleague at Macy’s, you combine results-driven selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable holiday shopping experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, offer personalized recommendations, connect them with appropriate products and services, and build trust and loyalty while working toward sales goals. The role involves helping customers on the sales floor and in fitting rooms, and is broader than cashiering. You also help keep the shopping space clean, organized, and inviting. At the start of the day, colleagues prepare the sales floor, review sales goals, learn about new arrivals, top-selling items, trends, and promotions, and get ready to engage customers. During the day, they create friendly, personal customer interactions; maintain a shoppable environment by merchandising new receipts, processing damages, testers, and selected merchandise for vendor returns, updating signs and prices, and supporting merchandise moves; and promote the Loyalty program. Colleagues support one another through collaboration and aim to improve, learn, and achieve individual and store results. Seasonal colleagues are typically scheduled for 10–20 hours per week, depending on business needs and colleague availability. The position requires flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as dependable attendance and punctuality.
