About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate will be hired to work during peak seasons, such as Fall and Spring meets. If available, they will get the opportunity to work during Horse Sales and Breeders Cup events. In addition to the Keeneland Shop, there are three additional retail locations set up outside on the property. They will be responsible for working on one or several of the retail sites. To perform this job successfully, Sales Associates need to demonstrate superior customer service in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements

• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Available to work on a flexible schedule based upon business needs for race meets.
• Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours.
• When scheduled for one of the outside locations one must be able to handle all weather conditions and dress accordingly.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and employees.
• Ability to maneuver around sales floor and stockroom.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Ability to receive feedback and act when appropriate.
• Having a team work mentality

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak Spanish or French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understanding and adhering to the principles of the Keeneland PROMISE mission statement.
• Create a welcoming Keeneland experience for guests by delivering exceptional customer service and connecting with patrons providing product knowledge in a confident manner.
• Complete tasks as directed by Retail Management Team for business needs.
• Ability to utilize and point of sales system and handle cash & credit transactions correctly.
• For the outside locations one will be responsible for packing and unpacking products in a orderly manner.
• Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with all team members and provide support to the team through sharing knowledge.
• During race meets one is expected to work the entire race meet, if necessary.
