About The Position

EZCORP is hiring a Retail Sales Associate, also described as a Retail Customer Service Representative (Pawnbroker), for its EZPawn store at 9 Uvalde, Houston, Texas 77015. The role involves daily customer interaction and helping customers reach mutually satisfying agreements involving pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Team members are expected to provide a friendly, courteous, and respectful environment and excellent customer service in person and by phone.

The position offers a structured career path. New hires begin as trainees in a five-week paid training program; completing it brings a $0.50-per-hour raise and promotion to Pawnbroker. Team members can pursue a Pawnbroker Certification Program for an additional $1 per hour, explore promotion to Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Manager), and apply for a Store Manager in Training position with a 12-week training program.

The listed pay range is $11.00 to $15.00 per hour, based on experience. The posting also describes competitive wages, uncapped monthly bonus potential based on store and individual performance, and benefits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Self-motivated, positive, outgoing, and possesses a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of commonly pawned items, such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
• Sales background.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and interact with them in person and by phone.
