About The Position

Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Retail Sales Agronomist for their Brevant Seeds brand, serving the Northeast Kansas Area. This role is ideal for someone passionate about providing solutions to customers and supporting a high-performing team. The Agronomist will own the relationship, product training, demand creation, team-selling, and portfolio planning with retailer sellers. Responsibilities include product training and support, leveraging and promoting the portfolio, understanding and executing account-level strategy with retail sellers in collaboration with the Retail Business Manager (RBM), and driving business forward. The role involves sales execution, demand planning, inventory ownership, plot strategy, agronomy meetings, in-field trainings, and providing industry-leading support regarding Brevant products to key retail sellers. Coordination with functional leaders in the area, such as Area Product Manager (APM), Area Business Development Manager (ABDM), customer service, supply, and program teams, is also expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent, in Agronomy, Business, or Marketing required. Will consider other degrees with related agronomy and field sales experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years agronomy and sales experience, with proven abilities preferred.
  • Must be able to provide an agronomy skillset, selling tactics, negotiation skills, and influence.
  • Understanding of Agronomy and Crop Production practices.
  • Understand the key Crop Protection product offerings in the Territory.
  • Understand changing market dynamics (forecasting, product/marketing input) and build a network of strategic sellers to drive increased demand within the territory.
  • Ability to pass driving record background check.

Responsibilities

  • Own the relationship, product training, demand creation, team-selling, and portfolio planning with retailer sellers.
  • Provide product training and support through in-person or various media forms.
  • Leverage and promote the portfolio, support the process, and instill knowledge and confidence in sellers.
  • Understand and execute account-level strategy with retail sellers by collaborating with the Retail Business Manager (RBM).
  • Maintain seller focus on planning efforts to drive business forward.
  • Own the seller plan and mutually execute with strategic retail sellers.
  • Drive the retail seller’s ability to demonstrate value beyond products to create product demand.
  • Core responsibilities include sales execution, demand planning, inventory ownership, plot strategy, agronomy meetings, and in-field trainings.
  • Provide industry-leading support regarding Brevant products to key retail sellers.
  • Coordinate efforts with functional leaders in the area (Area Product Manager (APM), Area Business Development Manager (ABDM), customer service team, supply team, program team, etc.).
