About The Position

The Retail Producer plays a critical role in Goodwill’s Donated Goods & Retail (DGR) optimization strategy by determining the appropriate retail value, pricing, and presentation of donated merchandise. This position supports speed-to-floor, revenue maximization, and product quality by applying established pricing guidelines and 1-Touch principles to minimize handling and rework. The Retail Producer ensures that merchandise is accurately priced, properly identified for specialized sales channels (including e-commerce when applicable), and staged for efficient movement to the sales floor.

Requirements

  • Ability to evaluate donated merchandise to determine appropriate pricing based on condition, category, and established guidelines.
  • Ability to apply pricing tags accurately and consistently.
  • Ability to utilize 1-Touch principles to minimize rehandling and delays.
  • Ability to support speed-to-floor objectives by processing merchandise efficiently.
  • Ability to assess merchandise quality, completeness, and sellability.
  • Ability to identify items appropriate for alternative sales channels, including e-commerce, as defined by policy.
  • Ability to remove damaged, unsafe, or non-sellable items from retail flow.
  • Ability to maintain consistency in pricing and quality standards across categories.
  • Ability to prepare merchandise for retail presentation, including tagging, bundling, or staging.
  • Ability to coordinate with store staff to ensure timely placement on the sales floor.
  • Ability to maintain organized processing areas to support efficient workflow.
  • Ability to follow all safety procedures related to lifting, material handling, and equipment use.
  • Ability to use approved tools and equipment safely, including carts, racks, and tagging equipment.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Sorters, Donation Attendants, and others.
  • Ability to communicate issues related to quality, pricing, or flow to supervisors or managers.
  • Ability to provide feedback and suggestions to improve efficiency and revenue outcomes.
