About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician obtains new prescriptions and prescription refill information. The Pharmacy Technician performs daily pharmacy technician duties including various activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Interacts with patients and affiliate primary care clinic. The Pharmacy Technician retrieves, counts, and measures drugs. Assists Pharmacist in price-checking and restocking of drugs. Accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer. Refers physicians' calls and any medical questions to pharmacist. May operate a cash register. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Requirements

  • Must have an active Florida Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Must be active or be able to become certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 12 months of hire in the role.
  • Minimum 1 year of retail pharmacy experience.
  • Basic working knowledge using MS Office including Outlook, and ability to learn and use variety of platforms such as SharePoint, Teams, etc.
  • Must have a driver's license, with reliable transportation to transport office locations.
  • Must be willing to meet for an in-person interview with leader(s).
  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/CenterWell's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
