The Community Health Center Retail Pharmacy Technician role is with a company-owned retail contract pharmacy, specifically at the United Health Centers Pharmacy in Fresno, CA. This program is designed for healthcare facilities to address population health management needs, focusing on HRSA compliance and medication adherence. The technician will play a crucial role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care to communities in need, building patient relationships, and assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescriptions. Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, and Saturday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, with potential changes and required travel to cover other United Health Centers Pharmacies. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel beyond the normal commute, and Saturday rotation is required.

Requirements

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of California required
  • Fluent in Spanish required

Nice To Haves

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • 2 plus years with retail pharmacy technician related experience, preferred
  • 340B experience preferred
  • May require vendor credentialing

Responsibilities

  • Maintain professional working relationships at all times, with the pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel.
  • Understand that the requirements of working in a pharmacy are varied and may change as demands on the department change.
  • Be available to the customer/patients at all times.
  • Maintain friendly and helpful attitude at all times when dealing with customers.
  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by profiling prescriptions; preparing labels and calculating quantities
  • Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and ordering when needed
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Works with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed with regards to 340B
  • The ability to travel at a moment's notice to cover other United Health Centers Pharmacies, as needed, is a job requirement.
  • Must work an eight-hour shift minimum, at least once every 90 days.
