Retail Pharmacist
About The Position
This position will be supporting retail pharmacy services at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. This is a part-time position - 16 hours per week (Tuesday/Thursday). Must be flexible with covering weekends when weekend coverage is needed (help coverage paid time off from other pharmacy staff). POSITION SUMMARY: The Retail Pharmacist reviews prescriptions, obtains clarifications and analyzes drug therapy. Responsible for compounding and dispensing medications according to established policies and procedures of the professional of pharmacy. Supervises pharmacy technicians in the preparation of medication.
Requirements
- Current Illinois State Pharmacist License
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Science Pharmacy or PharmD
- 3 years of experience in Retail Pharmacy
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and various other medical personnel when explaining medication use and gathering and exchanging other medication information.
- Analytical skills necessary in order to determine drug appropriateness and evaluate drug interactions.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task
