About The Position

This position oversees the operations in the Gallery as directed by Retail Manager, maintaining open line of communication with Manager and Buyer at all times. As scheduled, acts as a lead in charge for the shops, ensuring guidelines are followed operationally and exceptional guest service is being delivered. The role involves maintaining excellent guest service, fostering a positive rapport with colleagues, and reporting guest concerns to the Retail Manager. This position also collaborates with the Retail Buyer on inventory levels and special orders, and assists the Retail Manager with scheduling. A key responsibility is the initial training of new hires. The supervisor is also responsible for maintaining organization in stockrooms, creating an operation manual, managing paperwork flow, ensuring the freshness of edible products, managing ice cream and supply inventory for the Café, and upholding high standards of cleanliness. Event coordination, full-time coverage in Retail Shops, and adherence to the resort's environmental practices are also part of the role. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of retail experience is needed
  • Familiarity with Excel and Word
  • Able to comfortably interact with guests to build incremental sales and drive revenue
  • Ability to articulate in both written and verbal communication
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • The candidate must have basic mathematical skills and understand how to read, analyze and assist in the creation of budgets
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment

Responsibilities

  • Acts as lead in charge for the shops, ensuring guidelines are followed operationally and exceptional guest service is being delivered

  • Communicating with Retail Buyer to ensure proper inventory levels

  • Assist Retail Manager with daily break and weekly work schedules
  • Responsible for initial training of new hires and placement with proper staff member for further training
  • Create and maintain organization in stockrooms
  • Create and maintain an operation manual
  • Create and maintain proper flow of paperwork from transfers to receiving
  • Create and maintain freshness of all edible products
  • Create and maintain order and proper inventory of ice cream/supplies for the Café
  • Create and maintain high standard of cleanliness in all areas
  • Handle contracts, set-up and execution of events with guidance from Retail Manager and Buyer
  • Full time coverage in Retail Shops along with other assigned tasks
  • Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort
  • Other duties as assigned
