About The Position

Altman Plants is hiring a Retail Merchandiser to service garden centers at retail store locations. The role involves stocking and displaying fresh plant material from delivery racks, maintaining plants and displays in sales-ready condition, and communicating with coworkers, vendors, customers, and retail associates. Work may be performed independently or as part of a team. Paid training is provided, and scheduling options are intended to support work-life balance, though hours vary by season, weather, and sales demands. The role requires outdoor work in varied weather and assigned shifts that include weekends and some holidays.

Requirements

Positive attitude and teamwork skills, with the ability to work unsupervised at times.
Ability to communicate well with customers, coworkers, managers, and store personnel.
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently.
Comfort working in various weather conditions.
Proof of a driver’s license and auto insurance.
Reliable transportation to and from assigned stores.
Clean DMV driving record.
Proficiency with mobile apps for clocking in and out and completing tasks.

Responsibilities

Stock and display fresh plant material in garden centers from delivery racks.
Maintain a sales-ready appearance for plants and displays.
Work and communicate cooperatively with coworkers, vendors, customers, and retail associates.
Remove and dispose of non-sellable plants.
Assist with inventory cycle counts.
Assist with resets, building displays, and special events.
Follow company policies and safety guidelines.
Keep work areas clean and safe.
Use tools such as pallet jacks, pruners, and ladders.
Work assigned schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Ensure empty delivery racks are ready and available for pickup.
