Part Time Retail Merchandise Associate
About The Position
The Retail Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The role adheres to operational, merchandising, and loss prevention standards and may involve cross-training in multiple store areas to support business needs. The associate supports a positive store culture, accurately handles customer purchases and returns, promotes credit and loyalty programs, prepares merchandise for the sales floor, and maintains store recovery, cleanliness, and safety standards. The position also supports shrink-reduction efforts, follows applicable labor laws and company procedures, and performs other duties as assigned. The position is part-time at the TJ Maxx store at 2721 Marconi Avenue in Sacramento, California. Starting pay is $16.90 to $17.40 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to established procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
- Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
- Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and participate in maintaining the cleanliness of the entire store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
