About The Position

The Retail Media Sales Strategist drives revenue growth for AWG’s Retail Marketing Network (RMN) by educating vendors and negotiating advertising and promotional strategies across digital platforms. This role focuses on building strong vendor partnerships, helping retailers enhance their digital presence, and leveraging customer data to offer innovative advertising solutions. The Strategist ensures an engaging shopper experience while maximizing product visibility, sales, and revenue, thereby advancing AWG’s competitive edge. The RMN Team seeks a proactive self-starter for this dynamic, fast-paced environment. Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. (AWG) is the largest cooperative food wholesaler in the nation, serving 1,100 member companies and 3,500 locations across 33 states from 9 wholesale division support centers. In 2024, AWG's consolidated sales reached $12.1 billion. The company also operates subsidiaries providing real estate, supermarket development, and pharmaceutical products.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for vendor partners, building and nurturing relationships to foster trust and collaboration.
  • Partner with vendors to develop tailored Retail Marketing Network (RMN) proposals based on their business goals, advertising needs, and budgets.
  • Identify and capitalize on new revenue opportunities by offering consultative advertising solutions to brands and partners.
  • Review customer and campaign data to identify opportunities, optimize performance, and provide actionable recommendations to partners.
  • Use performance metrics such as ROI, click-through rates, and conversion rates to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage advertising inventory to maximize fill rates and revenue while maintaining a premium user experience.
  • Conduct A/B testing and implement data-backed strategies to improve ad formats, placements, and overall campaign effectiveness.
  • Partner with internal teams, including marketing, e-commerce, and merchandising, to align sales strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging advertising technologies to position our RMN at the forefront of innovation.
  • Ensure all advertising content complies with industry regulations and aligns with company values.
