About The Position

The Retail Media Sales Strategist is responsible for driving revenue growth within AWG’s Retail Marketing Network (RMN) by educating and negotiating advertising and promotional strategies across digital platforms. This role is essential in building strong vendor partnerships and helping retailers unlock the potential of their digital presence. By leveraging customer data and offering innovative advertising solutions, the Retail Media Sales Strategist ensures a seamless, engaging experience for shoppers while maximizing product visibility, sales, and revenue. This position plays a pivotal part in advancing AWG’s competitive edge in the retail market. AWG’s RMN Team is looking for a proactive self-starter to join the dynamic fast-paced team environment. Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. (AWG) is the nation’s largest cooperative food wholesaler to independently owned supermarkets, serving 1,100 member companies and 3,500 locations throughout 33 states from 9 wholesale division support centers. Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for vendor partners, building and nurturing relationships to foster trust and collaboration.
  • Partner with vendors to develop tailored Retail Marketing Network (RMN) proposals based on their business goals, advertising needs, and budgets.
  • Identify and capitalize on new revenue opportunities by offering consultative advertising solutions to brands and partners.
  • Review customer and campaign data to identify opportunities, optimize performance, and provide actionable recommendations to partners.
  • Use performance metrics such as ROI, click-through rates, and conversion rates to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage advertising inventory to maximize fill rates and revenue while maintaining a premium user experience.
  • Conduct A/B testing and implement data-backed strategies to improve ad formats, placements, and overall campaign effectiveness.
  • Partner with internal teams, including marketing, e-commerce, and merchandising, to align sales strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging advertising technologies to position our RMN at the forefront of innovation.
  • Ensure all advertising content complies with industry regulations and aligns with company values.
