About The Position

Responsible for planning and execution of marketing strategies to increase traffic, sales, and conversion at new stores, relocated stores, and anniversary stores. Utilize promotions, advertising, and localized grassroots marketing techniques to support growth. Responsible for coordination of all domestic new store opening signage, events and advertising.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 5 years of successful experience in a corporate retail marketing position.
  • Past supervisory experience.
  • Advertising experience including both traditional, grassroots, and digital.
  • Must have event planning experience.
  • Basic to advanced proficiency of Adobe Photoshop and Canva.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Highly Proficient in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to perform detailed quantitative analysis on marketing campaigns to judge effectiveness.

Nice To Haves

  • Past experience working either in-store or at the corporate level for a big box or warehouse retailer is preferred.
  • Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator a plus.
  • BA or BS in business or marketing or related field is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new store opening advertising campaigns to increase awareness, drive traffic, and accelerate growth.
  • Research costs and create event budgets.
  • Manage expenses closely to ensure campaigns stay within approved budget.
  • Partner with Regional and District managers to develop localized plans that resonate with the customer base.
  • Conduct store and market visits as necessary to create a localized approach to marketing.
  • Execute localized store/market-specific advertising to support stores including billboards, digital, radio, direct mail, and grassroots campaigns.
  • Responsible for lease required advertising programs for specific retail properties.
  • Manage a team to support promotional and advertising efforts.
  • Responsible for the training and development.
  • Evaluate campaigns with written analysis in a timely manner.
  • Analyze data to support marketing programs and initiatives and make recommendations based on results.
  • Maintain library of grassroots marketing collateral i.e. flyers, discount cards, and tear pads updated bi-annually.
  • Work with the Digital team to support new store openings utilizing email, web, social, and mobile channels to drive sales.
  • Work with malls and landlords to promote the Grand Openings.
  • Work with the Operations team to implement strategies to enhance customer experience in Big Box stores.
  • Make the first impression of Skechers a fun and memorable experience for families.
  • Maintain an inventory of giveaway items to use for events and campaigns. This includes researching new creative ideas, sourcing vendors, bidding process, and overseeing the purchase and fulfillment of orders.
  • Monitor competitor advertising and stay abreast of industry innovations that may be used to better Skechers’ campaigns.
  • Work in tandem with the Operations department to communicate updates to office and field and provide clear execution expectations.
  • Work closely with Graphics department to develop creative and manage the process from inception to execution. Ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Oversee a Marketing Coordinator and/or Specialist. The Retail Marketing Manager will ensure they meet deadlines, perform at a high level, and are responsible for the growth and development of the employee(s).
