About The Position

The Retail Markdown Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate adheres to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role supports the store’s customer service, merchandising, checkout, recovery, safety, and shrink-reduction activities. It requires flexibility, strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and respond to changing situations. Retail customer experience is preferred. The position is part-time at the TJ Maxx store at 2467 W Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Starting pay is $14.00–$14.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and participate in maintaining and cleaning the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work in multiple areas of the store when cross-trained to support business needs.
