About The Position

The Markdown Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, embodying customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The role follows operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may involve cross-training in multiple store areas to support business needs.

The associate serves as a role model for customer experience and positive store culture, handles customer purchases and returns accurately, promotes credit and loyalty programs, and processes merchandise for the sales floor. The role also includes maintaining merchandising, recovery, cleanliness, organization, and safety standards; supporting shrink reduction; and following labor laws, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

The position is at the TJ Maxx Store 0101 at 750 Central Park Avenue in Yonkers, New York. The starting pay range is USD $17.00 to $17.50 per hour; actual pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following customer experience principles.
• Role model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow merchandising procedures and standards.
• Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain sales floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards, and help maintain the cleanliness of the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Follow all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
