About The Position

The Retail Lending Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with Company HMDA and Adverse policies, and monitoring compliance with other Northwest policies upon request. This role involves meeting quality control production goals, supporting production team turn time goals, and minimizing errors to ensure quality results. The specialist must maintain objectivity in assessing compliance with Company policies and recommend process improvements and corrective actions that ensure compliance while supporting efficiency and customer service initiatives. Active participation in educational seminars and training opportunities is expected. The role also includes performing post-close file reviews to ensure documentation supports HMDA data integrity, tracking recurring HMDA issues, and performing additional post-close compliance reviews as instructed. Recommendations for enhancements to the department's HMDA process are also part of the responsibilities. Ensuring compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations is paramount. The specialist will navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and department-specific software to maximize technology and efficiency, and will work as part of a team utilizing on-site equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related experience preferred
  • 2 - 6 years Experience in mortgage lending, with concentration in areas of loan production, compliance or audit preferred
  • Knowledge of all applicable regulatory guidelines, investor and insurer requirements, loan products and programs, and loan policies, processes and procedures
