About The Position

As the Retail Manager, you will oversee the successful operation of retail and cafeteria services within Food & Nutrition Services, reporting directly to the Director of Dining Services. In this role, you will manage three retail locations with a total annual volume of $8.9 million. Requirements

  • 1–3 years of retail foodservice management experience (based on education/training)
  • Strong knowledge of foodservice operations, including quality, production, sanitation, cost control, marketing, and presentation
  • Background in cash-handling retail environments
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Working knowledge of financial, budgeting, and accounting practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, or related field preferred; or Associate degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with P&L accountability and contract-managed services preferred
  • Retail marketing experience highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee special events and functions
  • Maintain cash controls, payroll records, and assist with hiring and training hourly team members
  • Drive customer satisfaction and positive public relations through efficient and safe operations
  • Lead staff to deliver retail services that align with company policies and presentation standards
  • Train team members on customer service, portion control, cashiering, and food safety/sanitation practices
  • Complete all required daily, weekly, and monthly reports in accordance with company timelines and standards
  • Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families
  • Implement and enforce cash handling procedures to prevent loss or theft
