About The Position

As the Independent Contractor Retail Food Safety Auditor for the Houston, TX territory, you will play a crucial role in NSF's mission to protect and improve human and planet health. This role offers the opportunity to travel, meet new people, and learn about various businesses. You will inform and educate restaurant, bar, grocery store, and foodservice personnel about specific standards while gaining knowledge about these industries.

Requirements

• Must have a degree
• At least 2 years of experience in food safety, restaurant or grocery operations
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analysis and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time including overnight as required
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Prior food safety experience/knowledge
• Must live within a 30-mile radius of Houston to be considered for the position

Nice To Haves

• Prior food safety audit experience
• ServSafe certification
• Certified CP-FS (Certified Professional Food Safety) or capable to obtain within 3 months (or equivalent certification)

Responsibilities

• Perform 2nd party audits for retail clients
• Summarize audit findings
• Communicate effectively with clients, Audit Delivery Manager, and Account Manager
• Demonstrate a high level of Quality and Integrity in daily responsibilities
• Overnight travel
• 50% of audits will need to take place in the evenings or on the weekends
• 10-50 audit hours per month offered
