About The Position

Individuals who perform this job are responsible for pulling and stocking dry, freezer, and refrigerated goods daily. They ensure the expedition and stocking of deli transfers and invoices in a timely fashion and provide extraordinary shopping experiences for our guests. This role requires physical attendance based on a schedule made by management which may vary week to week based on the needs of the business. The work environment includes exposure to outside weather conditions, and potential entry into refrigerator/freezer areas wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). The noise level is usually moderate to loud.

Responsibilities

  • Pulling and stocking dry, freezer, and refrigerated goods daily.
  • Ensuring the expedition and stocking of deli transfers and invoices in a timely fashion.
  • Providing extraordinary shopping experiences for guests.
  • Maintaining uniform standards.
  • Cleaning and dusting shelves, cases, freezers, products, and displays.
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly sales floor and back stock.
  • Stocking shelves and cases.
  • Fronting merchandise and rotating stock for freshness.
  • Reviewing for out-of-date items, moving close-dated products, and pulling out-of-date products.
  • Maintaining contact with merchandisers regarding spoilage reports and sales on close-dated items.
  • Checking price changes and key tags daily, maintaining updated and readable price and key tags.
  • Being aware of upcoming sales and ensuring proper signage is displayed.
  • Setting up displays and arranging merchandise to promote sales.
  • Updating end caps and displays to be full and shopper accessible.
  • Preparing promotional events as necessary.
  • Working with other departments on cross-merchandising and displays.
  • Ordering product in a timely manner, including POs and transfers.
  • Checking transfer status daily, preparing transfers before deadlines, and putting stock out from the transfer truck.
  • Keeping track of basket making items, bows, stuffing, and baskets.
  • Demonstrating superior product knowledge.
  • Seeking to continually improve related skills and knowledge.
  • Greeting guests, engaging in conversation with a smile and helpful demeanor.
  • Recommending merchandise based on guest needs or desires, with a focus on in-house brands.

  • Providing feedback to management regarding product movement, stock levels, out-of-stocks, and department needs.
  • Preparing sales floor and storage areas for inventory and assisting in the inventory process.
  • Properly using and maintaining computers and RF scanner equipment.
  • Avoiding conversations with coworkers when guests are present.
  • Limiting personal cell phone use to work-related activities only while on the sales floor.
  • Carrying out directives of management efficiently.
