About The Position
Flexible Field, POS & Network technicians handle implementing, maintaining, upgrading, and/or repairing networks/networked devices such as access points, routers, switches, POS systems, printers, and modems. They set up and troubleshoot connections in many different environments and connect them with physical cables or wireless frequencies, creating adequate signal strength throughout a location for a client's use. This role is described as flexible and potentially suitable for freelancers or small business owners with weekday availability.
Requirements
- Current Driver’s License, insurance, and a vehicle.
- Previous IT or Related technical technician experience.
- Technically inclined.
- Experience with Cabling runs/ management/ testing/ terminating.
- Experience with Network provisioning.
- Excellent communication skills via phone, text, and email.
- Possession of a Smart Phone mobile device.
- Flexible availability.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds or more.
- Ability to climb up and down ladders.
- Over the age of 18.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Superior knowledge of various networking technologies.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Aptitude for customer support.
Nice To Haves
- Certifications are a plus but not required.
- POS experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Implementing, maintaining, upgrading, and/or repairing networks/networked devices such as access points, routers, switches, POS systems, printers, and modems.
- Setting up and troubleshooting connections in various environments.
- Connecting devices with physical cables or wireless frequencies.
- Ensuring adequate signal strength throughout a location.
- Testing networks and Wi-Fi signals, including heat mapping.
- Installing and troubleshooting access points, routers, and switches.
- Performing cabling runs, management, testing, and termination.
- Network provisioning.
- Using hand tools frequently.
- Traveling to various markets.
- Climbing up and down ladders.
- Performing other duties as assigned, which may change at any time.
