Retail Donations Trailer Attendant
About The Position
Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing employment and training services to help people find jobs and reach financial stability. Our Trailer Attendants are the "face of Goodwill" to donors, assisting them with their donations and acknowledging their support. This role involves working outside in various conditions, with some trailers offering heating/cooling. The position requires physical exertion, including standing for long periods, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping, and lifting moderately heavy items up to 35 lbs, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Some positions may require climbing stairs, ladders, or step stools.
Requirements
- Ability to lift incoming donations (up to 50 lbs.)
- Working outside in extreme conditions
- Some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, reaching, stooping or similar activities
- Frequent lifting of moderately heavy items up to 35 lbs
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service experience is preferred
- For certain positions, frequent climbing of stairs, ladders or step stools may be required
Responsibilities
- Unloading donations from donor vehicles
- Offering/issuing a receipt for every donor
- Sorting and storing donations in the trailer
- Maintaining cleanliness, order and security of the trailer area at all times
