About The Position

Portland Leather Goods, beloved by a fun and crazy online community, is on a mission to WOW even more of our customers with our ongoing expansion into brick-and-mortar retail! We're on the hunt for an energetic Retail District Manager to lead this growth. This key leader will not only supervise our current locations but also spearhead the launch of new stores in the United States. This is a remote position that requires significant amounts of travel. At Portland Leather Goods, you’ll be part of a passionate team dedicated to crafting beautiful, high-quality leather products. Your role will directly impact our success as we expand our presence across the United States. As a Retail District Manager, you will oversee 10-15 locations, guiding the opening of exciting new retail spots across the United States. This position requires travel and ideal candidates will be located within an hour of a major airport.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or higher.
  • 4 years of multi-store supervision in a retail environment.
  • A current and valid driver’s license with the ability to commute to multiple locations and attend off-site events.
  • Ability to travel 50–75% of the time for events, training, or site visits.
  • Exceptional leadership and influential skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality balanced with respectful accountability.
  • Expertise in human resources including recruiting, hiring, onboarding payroll, and performance management.
  • Proven time management skills and ability to execute multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Employees must reside in a state where the company is currently registered to conduct business and process payroll. At this time, we are able to hire in the following states: Oregon, Texas, Washington, Florida, Virginia, South Carolina, Nevada, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Colorado, Tennessee, New Hampshire and Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and retain a diverse team of leaders.
  • Lead a highly engaged retail staff to ensure consistent achievement of sales goals and the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Manage recruiting, set up and launch of marketing and Grand Opening Events for new store openings.
  • Provide consistent, respectful feedback and communication to an energetic and engaged team.
  • Build a consistent customer-focused culture aligned with the Portland Leather Goods brand.
  • Drive top-line sales, interpret data, and manage budgets successfully.
  • Maintain Portland Leather Goods policies and brand expectations daily.
  • Plan and execute events, managing vendors, timelines, setup, and day-of coordination.
  • Develop KPI’s and SOP’s.
  • Act as a liaison between retail staff and business partners to obtain resources, remove obstacles, and drive retail improvement.
  • Analyze and predict sales trends, make informed decisions to facilitate growth.
  • Support store teams through consistent in-store visits, minimum 3 days per week, requiring frequent regional and air travel (approximately 50-75%).
