About The Position

The Retail Development Manager enjoys building relationships by providing customized solutions to car dealers in an exclusive partnership. The incumbent develops and maintains business relationships to generate sales opportunities and promote products and services to the car dealers in their territory. With a collaborative and coaching approach, they assess the opportunities and suggests improvement to the dealership's management team. As a consultant, they assist and support the dealers to achieve their projected sales target objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing or administration.
  • 5 years of experience in the retail automotive operations and B2B sales.
  • Accountable for achieving your number and demonstrate this accountability via a high sense of urgency and clear purpose.
  • Disciplined and resourceful.
  • Understand the positive impact of teamwork to create real client success.

Responsibilities

  • Business development, i.e. driving new & incremental sales in both channels will be the key priority.
  • Provide customized business solutions and specific strategies to each dealer to meet their specific needs thus ensuring customer loyalty in addition to promoting valued added services, training tools and promotions.
  • Implement a business plan for the entire territory in order to target current priorities and anticipate customer demands.
  • Assist and support the dealers in marketing, development and maintenance of priding lists, retail selling guides, special promotion and materials.
  • Build relationships with Dealership Management and manage a portfolio to meet sales and productivity objectives.
  • Develop and deliver market review plans that identify financial tire opportunity for each dealership.
  • Offer training and coaching on all retail strategies to dealers to maximize the business opportunities across all products.
  • Collaborate with the dealership to optimize merchandising components.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and share best practices across the team and the dealership network to support continuous improvement and exceed their goals.
  • Advise and coach clients on their inventory management processes, seasonal bookings, merchandising and sales practices and answer technical questions regarding products and services offered by the company.
  • Suggest improvements to the procedures currently in place to maximise their efficiency and surpass sales objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of each account under his/her responsibility by entering the information regarding business opportunities, contact persons and the various activities already held with the customers.
