About The Position

Focal Systems is seeking a results-driven Retail Consultant to join their Retail Consulting team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is critical in ensuring retail partners receive exceptional day-to-day support and achieve the maximum return on investment from their partnership with Focal and its technology solutions. The consultant will work closely with both new pilot projects and established retail clients, owning the onboarding process and ongoing engagement with their stores, while also acting as the key link between the retailer and the wider Focal team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Mid or senior-level experience within the retail sector, ideally in grocery, with involvement in digital transformation and/or process improvement initiatives.
  • Alternatively, 5+ years in a technology client-facing role, spanning areas such as customer success, account management, consulting, project management, change management, or onboarding/training.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
  • Strategic thinking skills coupled with high intellectual curiosity.
  • Start-up mindset and work ethic.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, often unstructured environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to commute to stores as required.

Responsibilities

  • Driving change management and adoption by providing an exceptional onboarding experience for Focal's customers.
  • Understanding customer's current and future operational processes, identifying roadblocks, and actively removing barriers to utilization.
  • Acting as the voice and champion of the customer, proactively addressing challenges and prioritizing enhancement requests to influence Focal's product roadmap.
  • Traveling to Focal enabled stores to strengthen customer engagement and adoption.
  • Facilitating internal collaboration across Focal's teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for customers.
  • Serving as a strategic advisor to customers, helping them define, implement, and adopt best practices aligned with their goals.
  • Quantifying the improvements Focal's solutions bring to store operations by monitoring and analyzing performance.
  • Making proactive, data-driven recommendations that deliver clear, measurable results.
