About The Position

TJ Maxx is seeking a Part-time Daytime Retail Cashier. This role is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging with customers, embodying customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The cashier adheres to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards. This position may involve cross-training in multiple areas of the store to support business needs. The role models customer experience practices, supports a positive store culture, and accurately handles customer purchases and returns. The cashier also promotes credit and loyalty programs, maintains merchandising standards, and processes merchandise for the sales floor. Additionally, the role participates in store recovery, maintains organizational and cleanliness standards, provides and accepts feedback, adheres to labor laws and policies, and supports shrink reduction and safety goals. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

Accurately rings customer purchases/returns and counts change back to customer.
Promotes credit and loyalty programs.
Maintains and upholds merchandising philosophy and follows established merchandising procedures and standards.
Accurately processes and prepares merchandise for the sales floor following company procedures and standards.
Initiates and participates in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Maintains all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participates in the maintenance/cleanliness of the entire store.
Adheres to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Supports and participates in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Participates in safety awareness and maintains a safe environment.
