About The Position

The Retail Cashier is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and helping maintain a clean and organized store. The role adheres to operational, merchandise, loss prevention, safety, and labor standards and may involve cross-training in multiple store areas to support business needs. The position is at the TJ Maxx store in Chesapeake, Virginia, with stated availability from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Follow the company merchandising philosophy and procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards, and participate in maintaining cleanliness throughout the store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Follow applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
