This position is responsible for buying, inventory control, web-site product assortment /content, new vendor opportunities and model inventory levels on categories / departments determined by the Merchandise Manager. The role is responsible for the profitability of the Packers Pro Shop through efficient buying, maintenance of gross margins, inventory control, and identification of market trends. The buyer will analyze key business metrics to identify and develop appropriate plans to drive sales as it pertains to supporting the Green Bay Packers fanbase. This role involves managing the buying of merchandise with an open-to-buy strategy, including writing and following up on purchase orders, monitoring incoming shipments, and ensuring quality control. The buyer will also resolve inventory discrepancies, maintain accurate product and pricing information, and manage new vendor inquiries and product opportunities. Additionally, the buyer will participate in assortment reviews, lead the markdown process, develop product newsletters, and assist with custom collections. The role also includes providing backup support for accounts receivable, inventory adjustments, and negative on-hand inventory investigations. Planning and overseeing in-store vendor activations, trunk shows, or promotional events is also part of the responsibilities. This position requires additional time as necessary, including nights, weekends, holidays, gamedays, and special events, as well as extended home game week hours and travel for vendor meetings and buying trips.
