About The Position

Menchey Music Service, Inc. is looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join our retail team at our Lancaster, PA location. This is a year-round part-time position. Menchey Music has been helping students, parents, educators, and musicians discover the joy of making music since 1936. With eight locations across Pennsylvania and Maryland, we've built our reputation on exceptional customer service, quality musical instruments, and a genuine commitment to supporting local school music programs and communities. Our goal is to inspire a lifelong love of music.

Requirements

Current high school enrollment or a high school diploma/GED
Personal experience playing one or more musical instruments
A general understanding of musical instruments and printed music
Strong communication and customer service skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
The ability to work evenings and Saturdays as needed
Basic computer skills and attention to detail
The ability to lift and move instrument cases and merchandise (up to approximately 30 lbs.) with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

Assisting customers with instrument, accessory, and sheet music purchases
Processing band and orchestra rental contracts
Introducing customers to The Menchey School of Music and registering students for private lessons
Answering questions in person, over the phone, and by email
Maintaining an organized, clean, and inviting sales floor
Opening and closing the store following company procedures
Handling cash and accurately balancing the cash drawer
