About The Position

Retail Associates serve as brand ambassadors and provide exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. They answer customer questions, make product recommendations, support customer service and teamwork, and help the Store Leadership team advance Columbia Sportswear Company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions. Associates also help keep products available, maintain visual displays, handle checkout, and support efficient store operations.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to operate inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to local business trends or forecasts.
• Ability to frequently move about in an active environment and frequently adjust or move items weighing up to 40 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; no specific education is required.
• Up to 2 years of experience in a position or specialization.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions about product features, benefits, and availability, and understand customers’ needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise and recommend suitable product options.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Process cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing product flow accurately and efficiently.
• Support the Store Leadership team and contribute to customer service, teamwork, and store profitability.
