About The Position

As a Retail Associate, you serve as a brand ambassador and help create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales skills to answer customer questions and make product recommendations while supporting Columbia Sportswear Company’s values of customer service and teamwork. Associates help ensure products are available on the sales floor, maintain visual displays, assist customers, and operate checkout processes while supporting the Store Leadership team and the company’s mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.”

Requirements

• No specific education is required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Two or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about product features, benefits, and availability, and understanding customers’ needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise and recommend suitable options to customers.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing product flow accurately and efficiently.
