About The Position

As a Retail Associate at Columbia Sportswear Company, you serve as a brand ambassador and help create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales abilities to answer customer questions, recommend products, and support customer service and teamwork. Associates help ensure merchandise is available on the sales floor, maintain visual displays, assist customers, and support efficient checkout while helping the Store Leadership team advance the company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions.

This is a seasonal hourly retail position. The role requires availability for a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts. The hiring range is $18.00–$19.00 per hour. Temporary employees may be eligible for a 401(k) plan with company match subject to age and hours-worked requirements, employee discounts, and Wellness Time Off in accordance with applicable laws.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Have 2 or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Be able to operate inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Communicate clearly with others.
• Be available to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Be able to frequently move about in an active environment and frequently adjust or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to questions or issues about product features, benefits, and availability.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences, demonstrate and explain merchandise, and suggest suitable options.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty-program connections, efficiently and accurately.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing product flow accurately and efficiently.
• Support the Store Leadership team and contribute to store profitability, customer service, and teamwork.
