About The Position
Uniqlo is seeking a Retail Alteration Specialist to perform hemming and other alterations on pants using industrial sewing machines. This role involves measuring, cutting, and sewing, as well as maintaining sewing machines. The specialist will also support the sales floor by providing excellent customer service and maintaining display tidiness. This position can be either full-time or part-time.
Requirements
- At least six (6) months prior sewing/ fitting experience in an alterations or tailoring department
- Maintain specified productivity guidelines
- Strong communication skills, fluency in English mandatory
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the business needs, including evenings and weekends
Responsibilities
- Sew hem of pants with industrial sewing machine
- Trim excess threads using scissors
- Measure, cut and sew hems following seams, edges, or markings on pants
- Alter pants hemlines to fit individual customers
- Working knowledge of sewing machines such as lock stitch, blind stitch, and serge machine
- Support the sales floor as needed to provide excellent customer service and maintain tidiness of displays
