About The Position

Leads the day-to-day retail operations of Habitat’s flagship ReStore in Nashville. This position is responsible for all aspects of store performance, including sales growth, financial management, team development, donor and volunteer engagement, customer experience, merchandising, and operational excellence. Responsible for the management, effective planning, and implementation of all store processes. Ensure a safe working environment while providing for the protection of company assets. Conduct all activities in accordance with the Habitat philosophy, policies, and principles. Must have the ability to relate to people of different races, faiths, and income levels.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of management experience in a retail environment required
  • Proven track-record of managing rapid revenue growth
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing store performance, budgets, expenses, and operational goals.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and inventory donation pipelines with corporate donors.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with inventory management, merchandising, cash controls, and retail operations.
  • Requires valid Tennessee driver’s license and insurable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • prior high volume retail operation with responsibility for sales, staffing, inventory management and financial performance of $2 million preferred.
  • prior retail store opening experience highly desirable.
  • The ability to operate a box truck and a forklift is highly desirable.
  • College degree or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, coach, develop, and evaluate store staff to build a high-performing team.
  • Provide direct leadership and support to the Floor Manager and Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient daily operations and accountability.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, customer service excellence, and mission engagement
  • Achieve established sales, donation, profitability, and operational performance goals
  • Maintain an active presence on the sales floor, regularly engaging with customers, donors, volunteers, and team members.
  • Oversee donation intake, merchandise processing, pricing, inventory control, and sales floor merchandising
  • Partner with the Corporate Donations Acquisition Manager and Building Trade Relationship & Deconstruction Manager to increase donation volume and secure high-value inventory.
  • Manage store budgets, expenses, financial controls, and key performance metrics to ensure operational excellence and profitability
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, safe, and maintained in accordance with Habitat standards and policies
  • Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally
  • Leverage marketing initiatives, special events, and social media efforts that increase store awareness and sales
  • Lead the annual physical inventory process and ensure accurate inventory management practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all Habitat for Humanity International and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville policies, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Represent the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville at community events, donor engagements, and affiliate activities as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of ReStore operations and Habitat's mission.
  • Recruit, supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate ReStore staff in accordance with organizational policies and performance expectations
  • Drive sales growth, profitability, and operational excellence through effective leadership, merchandising, inventory management, and execution of store strategies
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President of ReStore, ReStore Corporate Donations Acquisition Manager and ReStore Building Trade Relationship and Deconstruction Manager and ReStore Managers to maintain and grow relationships with businesses to ensure ongoing quality, sellable inventory.
  • Monitor and manage financial performance, ensuring achievement of sales, donation, budget, and profitability goals while maintaining strong internal controls and asset protection practices
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills and the ability to work with others of diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, organized, and customer-focused environment and maintain compliance with all Habitat for Humanity policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Serve as a leader and ambassador for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville by fostering community engagement, volunteer involvement, and support for the organization's mission.
