About The Position
The Restorative Nurse Aide, in collaboration with a licensed nurse and rehabilitation therapy, delivers restorative nursing care to prevent decline and help patients attain maximum functionality.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a state-approved certified nursing assistant program.
- Two years' experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Knowledge of restorative nursing philosophy and procedures.
- Attend a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education programs provided by the nursing center to maintain certification.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate restorative nursing progress documentation for all patients participating in the restorative program.
- Participate in the patient care planning process.
- Train other direct care staff in restorative techniques, equipment, and the application of splints, braces, prosthetic appliances, and self-help devices to ensure proper application and use.
- Notify nursing and/or rehabilitation therapy of patients who may be experiencing a change in their level of functioning.
