About The Position

Study Smart is hiring a Restorative Justice Mentor/Facilitator to support students and school communities in Pomona, California. The role facilitates restorative justice sessions and implements curriculum to help students develop conflict resolution skills, social-emotional growth, empathy, self-awareness, and constructive communication. The mentor/facilitator works with Study Smart’s Education team, school staff, educators, and counselors to tailor strategies to each school community. In-person availability is required.

Requirements

• Hold a completed four-year degree.
• Have experience in school settings, preferably in counseling, social-emotional learning, or restorative justice practices.
• Be available to work in person.
• Be comfortable implementing engagement strategies tailored to diverse student populations.
• Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting depending on location.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate study in school counseling, social work, education, or a related field is strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging, interactive restorative justice circles, discussions, and activities that develop students’ conflict resolution skills and foster a supportive school environment.
• Adapt and implement restorative justice curriculum and materials to meet the needs of students and school communities.
• Assess student needs through individual and group interactions and provide guidance supporting social-emotional growth and conflict resolution skills.
• Collaborate with Study Smart’s Education team, school staff, educators, and counselors to provide restorative justice strategies tailored to each school community.
• Motivate and support students in building self-awareness, empathy, and constructive communication skills.
