About The Position

ServiceMaster DSI is hiring a Restoration Crew Chief for its Downers Grove, Illinois branch. The role involves residential and commercial fire and water cleanup and restoration, including specialty mitigation, light demolition, water extraction, carpet and upholstery cleaning, mold abatement, vandalism cleanup, fire and smoke damage mitigation, content move-outs and pack-ins, and content cleaning. The Crew Chief directs, assists, and supervises Restoration Technicians and staff laborers assigned to projects. The starting salary is $20–$25 per hour, negotiable based on experience, with the opportunity for overtime.

Requirements

• Experience in restoration or carpet and upholstery cleaning.
• Good communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel out of town.
• Ability to move and/or lift more than 50 pounds.
• Pass a background check and drug screen.
• Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a Crew Chief in a fire and flood restoration company is highly desired.
• Previous restoration experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely, quality completion of assigned restoration cleaning, moving, packing, and general labor projects.
• Direct, assist, and supervise Restoration Technicians and staff laborers assigned to projects.
• Evaluate the competence and quality of Restoration Technicians and staff laborers.
• Support the ongoing development of the knowledge and skills of Restoration Technicians and staff laborers through training.
• Maintain the security, integrity, and cleanliness of company equipment and supplies used on or taken to assigned projects.
• Ensure the productivity of assigned Restoration Technicians and staff laborers.
• Complete required restoration project documentation, including forms and photo documentation, according to established protocols.
• Maintain excellent customer communication and relations.
• Perform other duties as required, including functions outside the scope of normal job duties.
