About The Position

EnviroScience, Inc. is seeking a full-time Restoration Construction Project Manager to oversee and perform the construction phase of ecological restoration projects. This role ensures that restoration designs are implemented effectively, safely, and in accordance with project specifications, permits, and environmental regulations. The position involves close coordination with contractors, field crews, clients, and internal technical staff to support the successful execution of restoration initiatives, including site preparation, stream and wetland construction, and vegetation installation. This role also contributes to broader project management efforts within the North Carolina office and surrounding region, supporting project development, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for coordinating project teams, monitoring progress, addressing field challenges, and maintaining alignment between construction activities, project goals, and client expectations. This position may require out-of-town or extended stay work based on specific project locations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in construction (earthmoving, sitework, etc.) or ecological restoration implementation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with fundamental elevation data collection and surveying.
  • Experience reading and comprehending design plans and specifications.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resources, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance requirements related to restoration construction, including permit conditions, erosion and sediment control practices, and environmental protection measures.
  • Experience supporting project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, and tracking project performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead coordination between field teams, contractors, engineers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
  • Experience participating in client meetings, progress updates, and project coordination discussions.
  • Experience assisting with proposal development, including contributing technical input, schedules, cost estimates, or construction approaches.
  • Familiarity with developing or reviewing project cost estimates and budgets for restoration or construction-related work.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in supporting business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, supporting proposal preparation, and contributing to regional growth initiatives.
  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel-based tracking tools, or similar systems).
  • Proficiency with GIS and/or AutoCAD software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and implement the design plans, according to the schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate with construction contractor, engineer, and project manager to ensure the project is being constructed to appropriate standards.
  • Conduct daily site assessments to ensure project is on schedule and built to plan.
  • Evaluate and assess site activities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, best practices, and design specifications.
  • Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective use of resources to meet project schedules and goals.
  • Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure project standards are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, permits, and project requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily field reports, permits, and records.
  • Provide regular updates to clients, stakeholders, and project managers regarding project status.
  • Support broader project management activities for the North Carolina office, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with internal teams and clients.
  • Assist with proposal development, including preparation of technical approaches, schedules, and cost inputs for restoration construction components.
  • Support business development efforts and contribute technical expertise to help expand restoration services and support the continued growth of the North Carolina office.
  • Supervise construction field staff on job sites.
