About The Position

We are seeking a Seasonal Restaurant Server to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our guests, from greeting them to ensuring their dining experience is enjoyable. You will take orders, serve food and beverages, and manage table settings and cleanliness. A strong understanding of the menu, suggestive selling techniques, and adherence to food and beverage control guidelines are essential. This position offers competitive compensation through a base wage plus tips.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with all daily specials.
  • Familiarity with proper plating procedures.
  • Knowledge of menu, menu prices, and composition of food and beverage menu items.
  • Ability to up-sell/suggestively sell food and beverages.
  • Adherence to food and beverage control guidelines.
  • Completion of TIPs training or willingness to complete.
  • Ability to attend regular staff and training meetings.
  • Ability to perform opening & closing work as requested.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of current in-house and company marketing programs.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver room service or take-out orders as requested.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests at assigned tables and ensure each guest has a dining room menu.
  • Offer, sell, and obtain cocktail orders from guests.
  • Obtain the meal order and put into POS for kitchen staff to prepare.
  • Serve the food once prepared and ensure guests have everything they need.
  • Return to assigned tables periodically to see if additional items are desired.
  • Suggest dessert to guests after their meal.
  • Deliver the check when guests have completed their meal or dessert.
  • Remove dirty dishes and silverware, placing them in respective trays.
  • Prepare tables for service: wipe clean, set with clean linen, glassware, and silverware, properly placed; place condiments attractively.
  • Know menu, menu prices, composition of food and beverage menu items, daily specials, and proper plating procedures.
  • Up-sell/suggestively sell food and beverages by describing each item in an appealing way to increase check average.
  • Refill all condiments and server station supplies at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain food and beverage control (e.g., pre-check machine, portion control, liquor control).
  • Follow guidelines and practices outlined in TIPs training.
  • Attend regular staff and training meetings.
  • Perform opening & closing work as requested.
  • Maintain knowledge of current in-house and company marketing programs.
  • Prepare and deliver room service or take-out orders as requested.
