About The Position

The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests, understanding and representing the core values of Apache Casino Hotel. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The server must maintain a positive attitude, possess strong communication skills, and be knowledgeable about menu items. They will also be responsible for handling transactions, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting other team members.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to transport up to 50 pounds through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout a shift
  • Lift trays weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Pass a background check and drug-screening test
  • Following hire will be required to obtain a local food handler permit and an Oklahoma ABLE license.

Responsibilities

  • Read, write and speak English sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests to explain and record orders
  • Remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items including desserts
  • Greet guests promptly, in a friendly and courteous manner, addressing the guest by name whenever possible.
  • Explain specials and/or restaurant promotions to create guest awareness
  • Record food and beverage orders accurately using a guest check/ticket, repeating information back to the guest, and presenting legible and accurate guest checks/tickets to the kitchen, providing additional information regarding the order as necessary
  • Check completed orders for accuracy prior to serving. Deliver food promptly, serving hot food hot and cold food cold, and include appropriate condiments.
  • Abide by all liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • Timely replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction
  • Market and serve dessert items and specialty coffees
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette, service ware and appropriate table settings
  • Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment
  • Promptly present guest check and accurately process cash, credit card and/or voucher transactions following established protocols
  • Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness
  • Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.
  • Supplement bus person in clearing and resetting the tables
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using Apache Casino Hotel products as assigned to adhere to cleanliness and health standards
  • Perform assigned side work to include replenishing condiments, restocking side stands and folding napkins
  • Report any suspicious persons or activity immediately to a supervisor
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor, including cross-training
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/casino industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of Apache Casino Hotel. We are busiest during weekends and holidays, events, and peak seasons as they occur. There is a reasonable expectation you will be scheduled on duty and/or “on-call” during any of these times.
  • Adhere to and act in accordance with all casino policies and procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards may apply departmentally based on uniform requirements). Where uniforms are required, they must be clean and pressed at the beginning of each shift
  • Competency to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data; carefully monitoring processes and routine work details
  • Ability to clearly present information verbally and in writing; actively listen and talk with guests and team members
  • Demonstrate a high level of service delivery to ensure guest and team member satisfaction; handle service failures and prioritize guest and team member needs
  • Prepare for known problems and opportunities in advance; willingness to undertake additional responsibilities and respond to situations as they arise
  • Maintain high standards despite workflow; reinforce excellence as a fundamental priority
