About The Position

Requirements

  • A high school education or equivalent preferred.
  • At least one year of progressive experience in food & beverage required.
  • ServSafe or Tips certification.
  • Ability to work long hours, as needed.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms.
  • Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
  • Ability to see details at close range.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time without sitting or leaning.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work in stressful, high pressure situations.
  • Ability to multi-task on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • Arriving at work on time to get the restaurant/lounge/cafe set up and ready to open, keeping the area clean and attractive throughout the meal period.
  • Performing all cleaning duties – floors, tables, buffet as well as sidework duties – as the outlet closes.
  • Pouring water, upselling food & beverage, making helpful suggestions, answering questions, remembering names or favorite choices, offering a friendly smile – and maybe even a weather forecast or a local attraction suggestion.
  • Understanding the food and beverage being served to speak knowledgeably about them.
  • Offering prompt, excellent service to create a wonderful dining experience for the guest.
  • Handling cash/credit accurately and timely.
  • Following the hotel’s established safety and security policies & procedures.
  • Anticipating problems and calling management as needed.
