About The Position

The Restaurant Server is responsible for selling and serving drinks and food to our guests. This role involves managing a number of tables as determined by management, possessing complete knowledge of ICONA’s menus and food preparation, and the ability to sell alcohol and food items. Servers are expected to use POS systems to ring orders, accept various payment types, and make change. Maintaining side-work, ensuring restaurant cleanliness, and monitoring drink service are key responsibilities. The role also includes checking guest identification for legal drinking age, politely refusing service when necessary, and observing guest behavior to ensure responsible alcohol consumption, offering alternatives like taxis if a guest appears unable to drive. Reporting to work in a neat and clean uniform with proper grooming and personal hygiene is essential. All guests must be treated with the goal of ensuring their complete satisfaction, always striving to exceed expectations. The position also requires weekly attendance at the Aloha Culture Meeting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be of legal age according to state regulations to serve alcohol.
  • Prior restaurant experience.
  • Compliant with state Alcoholic Beverage Control regulations.
  • ServSafe certified.

Responsibilities

  • Serve a number of tables as determined by management.
  • Have complete knowledge of ICONA’s menus and food preparation.
  • Ability to sell alcohol and food items.
  • Ability to use POS systems to ring orders on a check.
  • Ability to accept different types of payment and make changes.
  • Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant.
  • Monitor and ensure that no guest receives more than the allowed number of specific drinks.
  • Ability to clear and reset tables.
  • Check identification of guests to ensure guests are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages.
  • Refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age.
  • Observe guest’s behavior, count number of drinks served, and if the server feels they should not drive, offer a taxi.
  • Ask a manager to intervene if necessary.
  • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
  • Attend weekly Aloha Culture Meeting.
