We are hiring a Restaurant Manager for The Kitchen @MCASD. The Kitchen @MCASD is a unique restaurant and cafe overlooking the Pacific Ocean, nestled within the stunning Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. Surrounded by world-class art and breathtaking coastal views, every day brings something new.

Requirements

• Excellent sense of customer service.
• Extensive knowledge of food, wine, and service.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Extremely familiar with the sequence of fine dining service and dining room procedures.
• Understand and possess a strong sense of cost control.
• Knowledge of wine regions and varietals.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation.
• Working knowledge of computer word processing programs (word, excel, etc.) and restaurant POS programs.
• Basic understanding of California wage and hours laws and the ability to review and submit payroll.
• Communicate and understand the English language.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the restaurant and cafe.
• Oversee staff and ensure excellent customer service.
• Maintain knowledge of food, wine, and service standards.
• Implement and maintain fine dining service sequences and dining room procedures.
• Control costs effectively.
• Manage inventory and ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.
• Handle payroll and ensure compliance with California wage and hours laws.
• Communicate effectively with staff and management.
