The Marlin Bar Manager is responsible for restaurant operations and to ensure the Marlin Bar restaurant team delivers exceptional service experiences to our Guests while exhibiting Tommy Bahama Core Values, and Hospitality Standards. This role involves creating a learning and nurturing environment for all Marlin Bar Team Members that promotes sales and service success, and internal career growth. The manager will develop and implement strategies to increase qualified applicants, thoughtfully hire, develop, and mentor the team, and maintain appropriate staff levels. Minimizing employee turnover rates through effective hiring, orientation, clear performance expectations, training, coaching, and constructive feedback is crucial. The role also includes facilitating company learning/training programs, cultivating open dialogue, practicing proactive performance management, and assisting employees with career development strategies. Managing individual restaurant expenses, ensuring budgetary compliance, and ensuring consistent execution of Company policies and procedures are key responsibilities. Streamlining processes, managing payroll hours, and incorporating applicable safety programs are also part of the role. The manager will proactively seek out marketing opportunities within the community to increase brand awareness and restaurant brand exposure, communicating the Tommy Bahama lifestyle through brand execution. Ensuring employee appearance reflects the brand image and managing the upkeep of the kitchen, bar, and exterior in partnership with other managers is required. Embracing, articulating, and reflecting the Tommy Bahama Culture and Values, and influencing the team to do the same is essential. Co-managing team meetings with Retail as needed to ensure consistent communication and execution between teams, and partnering with Retail to leverage the relationship for marketing and sales events, as well as other joint projects, is expected. The manager will also partner with Retail on personnel and operational issues, and on shared expenses. Being receptive to feedback and coaching, possessing complete knowledge and enforcement of all food and beverage menus, and all Hospitality Standards are required. The ability to interact with guests and cultivate authentic relationships in the community, practice proper cash handling and point-of-sale system operation, and be proficient in food handling, safety, and sanitation guidelines are also necessary.
