About The Position

Avvio is looking for a Restaurant Manager to join the team. Our approachable, yet traditional menu features classic Italian dishes, pizzas, and wood-fire grilled entrees that use ingredients sourced locally and directly from Italy. Located in the heart of Garden City Center, this restaurant is a favorite among the locals! Avvio is proud to be part of the Newport Restaurant Group! In the Restaurant Manager role, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of all daily restaurant operations.

Requirements

A minimum of 3 years as a Restaurant Manager in an upscale, high-volume establishment
Must have flexible schedule to work during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage staff
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds
Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships

Responsibilities

Ensuring a quality guest experience by managing all areas of the restaurant’s daily operations
Hiring, training, and development of employees and managers
Hands on training and development of all service positions, specific areas to include: Guest Service, Etiquette, Food and Beverage Knowledge
Oversight of and approval of weekly scheduling
Reconciling, invoicing, and inventory
