About The Position

Perkins Restaurant is hiring a cook for its Salina location. The cook prepares menu items according to company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards; helps control food costs; and maintains kitchen cleanliness. The role performs duties to maximize guest satisfaction and quality of the work environment, as directed by the Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty. It also supports team members and coordinates with front-of-house staff. The franchise is independently owned and operated, and hiring decisions are made by the franchisee.

Responsibilities

Prepare menu and prep items according to recipes, guest requests, company standards, and food safety and sanitation procedures.
Report to work well-groomed, in a clean and proper uniform, and maintain good personal hygiene.
Use, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment and preparation and storage areas.
Stock and rotate products on the line, keeping them within shelf-life standards and using FIFO practices.
Follow recipes and portioning standards to maintain food quality and control food costs.
Keep the kitchen, prep areas, coolers, storage areas, equipment, and other assigned areas clean; conduct line sweeps and clean throughout the shift.
Follow food handling, rotation, storage, safety, OSHA, and health department requirements.
Anticipate, identify, and correct operational breakdowns that affect guest satisfaction.
Communicate product or service deficiencies, equipment issues, and safety problems to the Manager on Duty and coworkers; keep management informed and propose solutions.
Assist team members, including helping the dishwasher wash and restock dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
Assist front-of-house staff with dining room cleanliness and provide guest service through communication and cooperation.
