About The Position

The Restaurant Host is responsible for greeting and seating all guests, ensuring a quality dining experience, and supervising and coordinating the activities of the dining room in a restaurant. This role is the first and last impression guests have of the establishment, requiring a focus on making guests feel comfortable, valued, and attended to.

Requirements

Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs.
Stand continuously for long periods of time.
Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.

Responsibilities

Greet guests, escort them to their table, pull out chairs, and present menus.
Ensure entry doors are clean, free of debris, and inviting.
Ensure all menus are wiped down, complete, and updated with special items.
Inform servers of guest locations and assigned stations.
Plan the seating chart and organize reservations.
Check reservation systems and messages for all reservations.
Coordinate with management to ensure private parties are properly staffed and organized.
Verify with the kitchen about the availability of menu items.
Maintain constant contact with servers, management, and the kitchen to synchronize timing and food preparation with guest flow.
Greet guests as they leave, ensuring they had a pleasant dining experience and addressing any issues by involving a manager.
Handle special requests, such as seating for children or accessibility needs.
Manage waiting lists and assist in resolving guest issues.
